Wroxham Road, the northern bypass and newer estates
Wroxham Road carries a steady flow of traffic through Sprowston, and the Broadland Northway skirts the northern edge, so reaching most streets is straightforward. Inside the estates, though, roads can be narrow and lined with parked cars, which affects where a van and jetting equipment can stand.
The ground here is often lighter and freer draining than the river valleys, since Mousehold Heath lies nearby, so wet-ground drain trouble is less common than elsewhere. Faults tend to come from age and from building work instead: extensions with drains connected in a hurry, flat-roofed kitchens with exposed pipe runs, and appliances added later with makeshift plumbing behind cupboards.
